Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run this site, respond to you, and deliver your purchase.
- Purchase information: your name, email address, the product you bought, and the transaction details needed to confirm access or answer a billing question. Payment card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Free chapter and newsletter signups: your email address, if you request the free chapter or subscribe to tips.
- Contact form messages: your name, email address, topic, and message.
- Reader stories: if you share your results and check the consent box, the first name, last initial, city, and score change you give us.
- Technical information: basic device, browser, page, referral, and performance data collected through analytics and standard server logs.
Please don't send us your Social Security number, full credit reports, account numbers, passwords, or ID documents. We don't need them to answer support questions.
Information that stays on your device
The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. What you type into them is never sent to us.
The 90-day tracker saves your start date and checked tasks in your browser's local storage so your progress is there when you come back. That data stays on your device; we can't see it. Clearing your browser data, or choosing "Reset my progress," deletes it.
How we use information
- Process and confirm purchases, and deliver your download.
- Send receipts, support replies, and service messages.
- Send the free chapter and credit tips, only if you asked for them. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- Publish a reader story, only if you gave consent. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
- Understand aggregate traffic, keep the site working, prevent abuse and fraud, and meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations.
No sale, no renting, no marketing sharing
We don't sell, rent, trade, publish, or disclose your information to third parties for their own advertising, marketing, lead generation, or data brokerage. We don't share it with credit repair companies, lenders, brokers, debt collectors, affiliates, or advertisers, and we don't let anyone contact you because you bought the book or filled out a form.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers only to operate the site and deliver what you asked for. They're not permitted by us to use your information for their own marketing.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Web3Forms delivers form submissions (contact messages and email signups) to our inbox.
- Our email provider sends and stores our email.
- GitHub Pages hosts the website and keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.
- Google Analytics measures aggregate traffic and which features get used.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, which means your browser connects to Google's servers to load them.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose we collected it, including support, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal requirements, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website or internet transmission is perfectly secure.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, other state privacy laws, or similar rules. We honor reasonable requests from everyone, whether or not a law requires it.
- Know and access: ask what we've collected about you and get a copy.
- Correct: ask us to fix inaccurate contact information.
- Delete: ask us to delete your information, except records we must keep for legal, tax, security, or transaction reasons.
- Opt out: unsubscribe from emails at any time. We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Non-discrimination: we won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Children's privacy
This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
Privacy requests
Email help@creditrepairmap.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." Include the email address you used for your purchase, form, or signup so we can find your records. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. See also our terms of sale and refund policy.
